5 Things to Do In and Around Vacaville, California this Fall

Celebrate the most beautiful season in Northern California with our top five favorite fall activities!

Updated September 2019

There is a reason fall is one of our favorite seasons here in Northern California.  Picture-perfect weather, gorgeous turning leaves, pumpkin picking, and so many things to do outdoors – who could ask for more?  We’re so excited for autumn that we decided to put together a quick list of the best things to do in Vacaville.  So, what are you waiting for – get out and enjoy it while it lasts!

Farmers’ Market

The Vacaville Farmers’ Market wraps up its season on October 26th, so get your fresh local goodies while you can! Early autumn brings a bountiful harvest, and it’s a great time to snatch up some apples, grapes, root veggies, nuts, and squash. The farmers market is now located at the Creekwalk Plaza at Andrew’s Park and runs Saturdays through October 26th from 8AM-12PM.

Andrews Park Creekwalk

Observe the change of seasons in all its glory with a stroll down the Creekwalk trail in Andrews Park. Both the downtown and Creekwalk trail are a riot of fall colors in October and November. Head out to the trail after a rare rain and you can even spot some small waterfalls during your walk. By the way, if you happen to be a photography buff you will find ample opportunity for some gorgeous shots. Use the #ILoveVacaville hashtag and we may feature your photos!

Vacaville Kid Fest

Fall fun in Andrews Park. This annual free event began in 1999 and is for “the kid in all of us”. Take a fall stroll through the park and the Creekwalk and enjoy tons of local vendors, food, and fun activities for the whole family. Children have the opportunity to see public safety vehicles up close, have their face painted, and enjoy a variety of no and low-cost activities. The event takes place on Saturday, October 19th beginning at 10am. There is something for the whole family at this fun local event.

Alvin Bonifacio Memorial Children’s Fishing Derby

Take a scenic drive out to Lake Solano Park on Saturday September 28th and from 8-12 the first 500 children 14 and under are welcome to participate in the fishing derby hosted by the Vacaville Sunrise Rotary Club.
