Your Weekend Itinerary for an Overnight Stay in Vacaville, California: The Shopper's Edition

Treat yourself to some retail therapy at one of the biggest outlet shopping malls in California. Located right off the 1-80, Vacaville provides the perfect stop for those heading from San Francisco to Sacramento or Lake Tahoe.

With over 120 stores to choose from in the outlets plus the famous Nut Tree Plaza, Vacaville will have all your shopping needs satisfied.

Day 1

Grab a German pastry and a cup of coffee at the Pure Grain Bakery. A hidden gem in Vacaville and a local favorite! Originally opened in 1991, owners Michael Miethe and Holger Siebert turned an idea into reality and moved to California from Germany to open up a bakery in Vacaville.

Drive to the famous Vacaville Premium Outlets where there are over 120 stores for you to shop till you drop. Featuring stores like Nike, Kate Spade, The North Face, and Banana Republic.

Take a break from all the shopping and grab lunch at Buddha Thai Bistro - a Yelp Top 100 restaurant. Try any of the curry dishes or the drunken man noodles (ask for no oyster sauce or eggs) for a vegan friendly dish.

Spend your afternoon shopping for some fresh new shoes at the Vans outlet or get a pair of new shades at Sunglass Hut.

Have a fiesta with friends! Split a pitcher of margaritas and nachos at Murillo’s. This family owned restaurant has been in business since 1970 and was voted Best Mexican Food by the community 12 years in a row.

Day 2

Brunch out at Backdoor Bistro & Wine Bar with their rotation of seasonal mimosas and the Eggs Benedict with housemade Focaccia. Try the Pumpkin Spice Affogato for something sweet.

Explore the historic Nut Tree Plaza with all the shopping featuring a carousel and the original Nut Tree Railroad. For the boutique lovers, check out Apricot Lane for the cutest clothing and accessories.

On a hot day try the Poke Bowls at Okashi Fusion. These delicious and refreshing bowls will be just what you need after walking around in the sun. Don’t forget the dessert; try the macaroon ice cream sandwiches.

Finish your day by walking around downtown Vacaville. Explore all the local businesses, from music shops, to comic book stores, and boutiques. Check out the Pretty N Chic boutique to find a vintage treasure for your home.
