The event was covered by the local paper, The Vacaville Reporter: Tourism breakfast celebrates aviation ‘then and now’ in Vacaville

Echoing the Then and Now theme, the impacts of tourism in Vacaville and throughout Solano County were shared at the event, truly demonstrating the far reaching effects that visitors have on the area. In Vacaville, total Transient Occupancy Taxes, or TOT, were over $1.7 million in 2017. In Solano County, direct travel spending reached $756.3 million in 2017, with 9,140 people employed in tourism related jobs. And perhaps most impressively, each US household would pay an additional $1,300 in taxes without the tax revenue generated by travel & tourism.
