What is Journey Downtown?
Journey Downtown is Journey Coffee Co.’s premier venue destination, housed within the beautifully revitalized Clark Theatre in the heart of Downtown Vacaville. Originally opened in 1926, this historic landmark now blends a coffee shop, full kitchen, upscale wine and whiskey bar, venue space, and performance theater — all under one roof.
The Clark Theatre features a state-of-the-art sound system and can host up to 600 guests, making it a vibrant home for live music, performances, celebrations, and community events along Main Street.
Just next door, the 1915 Carnegie Historic Library, lovingly known as The Library, has been thoughtfully transformed into an intimate wine and whiskey bar restaurant. Today, The Library is an active dining destination and a sought-after venue space for private rentals, tastings, and special gatherings, while preserving its historic charm.
Since reopening in 2021, Journey Downtown and The Library have quickly become must-visit Vacaville destinations, welcoming touring artists, performers, and guests from across the United States while continuing to serve as a cultural hub for the local community.

THE LIBRARY
The Library is a craft cocktail bar like nothing else. This 1915 Carnegie Public Library has been re-imagined into a speakeasy hangout with a cultivated palette and stunning historical details. It’s the perfect rendezvous for a night out, or a pre-show bev and bite.
Enjoy weekly events like live music, comedy, and trivia or explore its collection of books from the Carnegie days.

OFF THE RECORD
This hidden, speakeasy-style room is one of the most distinctive experiences within Journey Downtown. Off the Record is located downstairs in The Library. This space offers an intimate and elevated atmosphere, designed for those who appreciate exceptional whiskey, curated tastings, and memorable gatherings.
While separate from the main cafe, Off the Record is supported by Journey Downtown’s full commercial kitchen and exclusive menu, allowing hosted events to enjoy a wide range of elevated food and gourmet catering options. From private tastings to intimate celebrations, Off the Record delivers a refined, immersive experience unlike anywhere else.
