Lambtown Festival

Dixon May Fair Grounds, 655 S 1st Street, Dixon, CA 95620

Join us at the Dixon May Fairgrounds in Dixon, California for our 39th annual celebration of all things sheep, lamb, and wool.

Saturday, 9AM-6PM | Sunday: 9AM-4PM

What: Lambtown Festival is a community event celebrating sheep, lamb, and wool. We have vendors, workshops, competitions, demonstrations, kids activities, and more during two full days of sheepy fun.

When: October 4 & 5, 2025. Lambtown Festival is always held on the first full weekend in October.

Admission: $25 for a weekend pass, $20 for Saturday, $15 for Sunday, or $5 Sunday after 1PM. Children 12 and under are free. Parking is free.

Who: We are open to everyone – you do not have to be a shepherd, chef, or artisan to find Lambtown Festival enjoyable! People from all walks of life are encouraged to explore the bounty that sheep provide for us all.

Why: As a versatile yet biodegradable fiber, wool is finding new converts in the burgeoning slow fashion and zero waste movements. In the kitchen, lamb is seeing a resurgence as a flavor forward protein. On the range, sheep help mitigate fire danger while improving pasture biodiversity. Lambtown Festival is a celebration of all of these things and much, much, more!

Weather: Lambtown Festival will take place rain or shine. While it is typically warm in Dixon in early October, we encourage you to dress in layers and wear comfortable walking shoes.

Payment: You can pre-order your admission tickets online and many of the events during festival weekend are free. Most vendors accept cards but appreciate cash and the ATM on site often runs empty before the festival is over.

The California Make it With Wool Contest will be held on Saturday October 4th, 2025. Judging takes place in the morning followed by the awards and fashion show at noon on the Leber Garden Stage.
The competition promotes creativity and the versatility of sewing, knitting, and crocheting using wool fabrics and yarns. The contest has a long, colorful history with the first contest being held in 1947 to foster an interest in sewing using wool. The contest has since encouraged personal expression and exceptional workmanship while showcasing thousands of awe-inspiring woolen garments from all over the US.
