Get ready to seize the day as Starbound Theatre and Solano Community Players

proudly bring Disney’s Newsies the Musical to life on the stage of the Vacaville Performing Arts

Theatre! Performances will run August 1–3, 2025, featuring a dynamic cast of over 50 performers

of all ages from across Solano County.

Based on the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899, Newsies tells the inspiring story of Jack Kelly, a

charismatic newsboy who rallies a group of teen workers to fight for fair treatment by publishing

giants. With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, and a book by Harvey Fierstein, this

high-energy musical is packed with thrilling choreography, unforgettable songs, and an

empowering message for all ages.
