Visit Vacaville Kicks Off I Love Vacaville Week

I Love Vacaville Week is returning for 2020, and by design the timing again aligns with Valentine’s Day.

This year’s event will take place from February 8-15th and features a new twist – in addition to sharing what’s special about Vacaville on social media and through activities around town, locals are invited to share the love and kick off the weeklong celebration by participating in minor repair and beautification projects around the city. Volunteer projects will happen rain or shine.

A variety of opportunities are available, including indoor and outdoor projects to give back to the community. Volunteers can expect a four-hour commitment, beginning with a group meetup at Andrews Park in the morning, where Visit Vacaville will provide grab and go breakfast to fuel volunteers for their morning work. Following work shifts, there will be a lunchtime regroup to celebrate the good work done over a shared meal.

Volunteers will be assigned to projects by Visit Vacaville staff, however, anyone wanting to list special skills or make note of needed accommodations, such as needing to do jobs that do not require heavy lifting, can indicate these things when they sign up. Signups are available on Visit Vacaville’s website at https://www.visitvacaville.com/volunteers/.

While all volunteer interest is appreciated, participants at this year’s event must be age 16 or older. Participants under age 18 will need to have a release signed by a parent or guardian to take part.

“We’re so excited to offer a give back component to this year’s I Love Vacaville Week,” said Visit Vacaville CEO Melyssa Laughlin. “In addition to our traditional push for locals to share why they love our city, this year we’ll be able to put our words into action by making Vacaville an even better and more beautiful place to live, work and play.”

Visit Vacaville is also encouraging the local community to come together and get involved with I Love Vacaville Week by updating their social media profile images to the I Love Vacaville graphic that can be found on Visit Vacaville’s Facebook page.
