Need ideas for Father’s Day 2019? We’ve compiled a list of things to do. It’s important to make sure dad feels special without doing the same thing as last year. Visit Vacaville has everyone covered with activities that families won’t want to miss!

Dads often enjoy a round of bowling, and Pizza, Pins, and Pop at Stars Recreation Center is the perfect plan! Enjoy 2 hours of unlimited bowling, a large pizza, and a pitcher of pop (with your Pops) for just $34.95 between 5 pm and 9 pm. Yes, it includes the shoe rental. Stars has 40 lanes of bowling, with state of the art graphic scorers. It’s always a good time!

We’ve all heard our share of Dad jokes. Haven’t we? Connect with dad at Laugh It Off Father’s Day Weekend Comedy Blast at Theatre Deville.

If comedy doesn’t quite hit the spot, Theatre Deville is also showing a movie premiere that features scenes filmed right here in Vacaville! Shoot over for the 5 pm showing of Fill Your Heart, the story of two best friends and their love for music who fall into the trap of betrayal, thoughts of fame, and addiction. Can they ever come back from their bad choices? Go to the show to find out.

Maybe an outside activity would be more fitting for dad? Then take him on an Agriventure with a Lucky Ones Ranch Tour. Lucky Ones is a nonprofit animal sanctuary offering a 90-minute tour of their farm with over 100 animals. They have horses, donkeys, llamas, goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises, and many other mammals and birds. The best part is they allow visitors to feed them! It’s a great family time and opportunity to bond.

Merchant & Main for brunch from 9am-2:30pm. The restaurant will have a special menu to mark this occasion. They are offering a complimentary glass of champagne or sparkling cider, so make a toast to that special father figure in life. A sneak peek at the brunch menu revealed wild Alaskan Salmon and Black Angus prime rib as two of the many options. They will be open for dinner as well, from 5pm - 9pm. A stolen glance at the supper menu divulged surf(tequila lime prawns) & turf(marinated tri-tip) and miso marinated pork chop among many other entre options. The good news is Dad won’t have to worry about cooking or cleaning!

Backdoor Bistro offers brunch from 10am - 2pm on Sunday. Backdoor is the perfect place to savor Vacaville’s local flavors. They focus on seasonal, organic, locally grown and produced food, wine, and beer. Dad will love it!

Los Reyes Restaurante Y Cantina is a local favorite with fresh Mexican cuisine and a unique ambiance. They have a special Sunday brunch menu and customers can order mimosas or fully loaded Bloody Marys with bacon or shrimp. Los Reyes is open from 9am - 4pm on Sunday, and of course, since Father’s Day is a busy time and it would be wise to schedule reservations as soon as possible.

It’s going to be a scorcher on Sunday! To cool off, head over to Fenton’s Creamery for a mountain of a sundae, CREAM for a warm cookie ice cream sandwich, or Roline's Uniquely Filipino for a halo halo shaved ice sundae.

Some Dads are into cars and motorcycles. I mean really into them! What better way to start off the morning than taking dad to Cars, Bikes, and Coffee at Pure Grain Café in historic old town Vacaville, California? It runs from 8 AM to 11 AM. Here, he’ll get to show off his ride or just check out some pretty cool cars and even faster bikes and get some great brewed coffee! The event is free and located in the parking lot between Towns Square and the Vacaville Library. Those who bring a car or motorcycle get 10% off their order at Pure Grain.

If dad is more of an outdoorsman then check out our guide to the top 6 hiking spots in and around Vacaville. There are some beautiful locations to explore in this Northern California paradise. Whether your preference is an easy stroll or a challenging hike, it can be found here.

Take the whole family out to Lagoon Valley to end the day watching the sunset over the water or enjoy an evening walk. At the end of the day, a perfect dad’s day begins and ends with great food and time spent with the family.

For a dad whose kids are a little more mature, a local bar may be a fun way to celebrate.

The Brass Tap is having Yappy Hour all Sunday long. Bring the whole adult family (including the ones that walk on four legs) to this bar. They have over 300 craft beers to satisfy the taste buds.

Solano Brewing Company is another excellent choice and is offering half off the first glass of beer and a free sticker this Father’s Day to celebrate. SBC is our local Vacaville brewery, which just opened its doors in 2019. It’s a pre-prohibition brewery with an emphasis on using quality local ingredients.
